just 5 weeks into the sem, and i'm already facing a huge back log of work...And i've been trying to keep up...and not slack...but somehow i still seem to be very behind..
So i'm in the library now surfing through loads and loads of online shopping blogs...looking at all these pretty stuff and wondering if i should just move away from my "no shooping" resolution for just one dress...and maybe one denim skirt...and a bronze bag...and just another halter...Ok this is not gonna work...I'm just getting more and more attracted to the stuff on the blogs...
Oh btw..i did mention i was in the library didn't i...well the whole point of me coming to this terribly freezzing place was to watch my DSC2003 webcasts...but well look what i've been upto!!!
Oh well..mayb i should attempt to get back to the webcasts...rather start on them...
Just a dress i saw and am absolutely in love with..should i go for it...$22??

Surprise!!!
Yes...it was Saturday the 9th....Only Rishan knew that i was back in Lanka...and that too only cos he flew back with me...and i needed an accomplice for my plans!! Ha ha!! Initially hasna was supposed to be my accomplice but then dates got changed and i decided to fly ealier...so used rishan!!!
So the day was planned perfectly..the guys wud watch Spiderman and then go to dinemor for lunch...and i would just walk into dinemore and "surprise"!!! BUt wait...plans never work out the way they are supposed to...especially with us
The first spoiler was Hasna not getting permission to join...hmmm...so i changed my plan..i would drop by at her place and surprise her...and drag her along with me...Then came the second problem...they changed plans from the flower road dinemore to the liberty one...now i was wondering if aunty would say yes to that....but ha ha..she did...so YAY!! we got into the threewheeler and set off!!
But the biggest bummer was when we got there...there were no belvoirians in sight at all!!! What the cux!! Ok...call rishan now...but fella out of credit!!!! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh...now what!!! Who knew that a surprise could be that hard...so anyway finally we somehow got thru to him and found they were in excel world!!! BUMMMMMMMMMMER!!!!! Now how were we gg to get permission from Hasna's mum for that.....well well...crossing our fingers we went back to Hasna's...and there we somehow got permisssion for Hasna!! YAY!!
SO finally we got to excel world...while i hope for no more changes, Hasna is enjoying her ride alone in a 3 wheeler...with no chaperone....and savouring every moment of her so called "adevnture"!!!
We get to excel world...both of us haven't sighted the place in ages...and so we kinda had no sense of direction...but somehow we manage to get directly to the food court where we see them!! now HAsna and i just walk in that direction...Rameez is the 1st person to spot me...and he does a double take...haha...and then one by one ppl go "OMG, Nithiya!"...and sajjaaad, the best if the lot...he stands up and says "Bitch....come here...gimme a hug"....ha ha...and thats how the hugs started...and one by one they kept coming!!! I was soooo happy...the happiest i have been in a loooooooong time!!!
Well after that, we basically ate....hung out...went bowling...etc etc...and then it was back home!!
But all in all...the reactions on my frens faces was worth all the effort put into the surprise!

Home sweet home
The breath of fresh Sri Lankan air, warm and friendly faces allover, familiar languages around me, my loving family, life long friends, the not-so-clean roads, the pot holes here and there, the butiks, the cyclists, the commenting guys, the sea, the natural greenery, the lorries, the crowded buses, the stray dogs, the check points, some rundown houses in between the better maintained ones, the fresh aroma of spices, the waterfalls...oh and sooo much more - but basically an imperfect country but my paradise....
Its heavenly to be back home!!!!

Sri Lanka...here i come...
Yes!!! YAY!!! I'm going home!!!! And that too for more than a month i believe!!! This is awesome!!!
I've already planned out what to do
- Chill out at home
- Shopping
- Catch up on all the TV serials
- Surprises
- Download all infinite amounts of movies and Tv shows
- Hang out at Hasna's
- Force Hasna to make me chocolate mousse everytime i visit her
- Dinemore - Ah the Shawarmas
- Lankan Food - and loads of it too!!
- Kandy trip!!!
- Shopping
- Learn to cook (I really see my self consciously forgetting to do this)
- Reunions
- Leisure World
- More shopping
- Phone hogging
- Harry Potter and any other book i find to be interesting in the bookstore
- Cricket
- laze around while parents do everything for u:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P
Anyway, thats all i remember for now...if and when i update the list will post an entry:D

Mixed Feelings...
Ok...so people have been complaining that i never update my blog...ha ha..so well i decided to post an entry today..well was actually planning to post this for some time...but being the lazy bum that i usually am, i never got through to blogging..ha ha..
Anyways..so one year in NUS has officially come to an end..I really dont know whether to feel happy or sad :S. Well i could feel happy in the sense that one year in NUS is down...so i have one less year to spend studying in NUS...but then again, that is one reason to feel sad also..After all these are my college years...and days u spend here are supposed to be the most fun of your whole life..but they honestly havent been the best of my life...maybe cos i expected something different..something more fun...and definitely something less stressful...sigh...But staying in Sing after exams this time has really made me look at things in a different perspective...
Firstly i should consider myself lucky to be in NUS...not everyone gets a chance to come here...and those who come are the "creme de la creme"...and every single one of us is one of them...Once i got in, i thought that was the biggest achievement in life..and slacked throughout my first sem..haha..that was very well reflected in my grades..but then this sem...things were different...i worked quite hard..although not to my best ability..and my CAP did improve..and i'm happy for that..and it would have been higher had it not been for my FNA2002 for which i was really expecting better...anyways, now i know what i want...and what i should do to achieve that..so next sem i guess i should really give it my best shot and see...
Guess my involvement in hall stuff will definitely be lower next year...Not cos i dont love Sheares..i do feel a very big sense of loyalty to my hall...but its just not worth my parents money i guess...its better that i get involved in more stuff that will help me produce a good resume....
Oh...i just realized my entry has gotten sooo long :P..anyways...let me finish this entry off and post some fotos on my blog...since that has been another complaint too....
